Flight connections

While there are flight connections to Turku airport (TKU), most airlines only serve Helsinki-Vantaa airport (HEL). Turku airport is some 12 km from downtown Turku and you can either take a taxi (~30€), or a local bus (3€) from there. Note that Finnair flights to Turku will have the last leg from Helsinki-Vantaa airport to Turku by Finnair’s own bus.

Getting from Helsinki-Vantaa airport to Turku

By train (recommended):
You can buy a train ticket directly from the Helsinki-Vantaa airport to Kupittaa(Turku). Make sure the end station is ”Kupittaa(Turku)”, it is the last station. You will first take a local train (follow the signs at the airport) to ”Pasila” station (~30 minutes), and then change to a long distance train to Kupittaa(Turku) (~2 hours) . From the airport you can take any local train and you do not need to wait for the time shown on the ticket. There are ticket machines at the airport railway station, or one can buy a ticket from VR.fi: Helsinki-Vantaa airport to Kupittaa (Turku). The timetables are also in this link. There is a train connection almost once every hour. One way ticket is approximately 25€, or less.

By car:
The distance between Helsinki-Vantaa airport and Turku is approximately 165 kilometers, taking usually around 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic conditions and the chosen route.
